I have recently started breeding European Nightcrawlers for composting and for use as fishing worms. Euros are great for composting, a bit hardier than Red Wigglers, and are huge by comparison. They are a bit slower to breed than red wigglers, so that is why their prices are a bit higher. However, they are a fantastic addition to any worm system and are known to be a little more tolerant of adverse conditions than red wigglers. The next new item I have to offer is a Compost Thermometer. This will come in handy especially for those of you with worm bins or piles outside in the upcoming winter months. This compost thermometer has a range of 0 to 220 degrees fahrenheit or -20 to 120 degrees celsius. It is 20" long for easy insertion into the pile with an easy-to-read 1.75" diameter dial. This compost thermometer is a stainless steel construction with a plastic lens.

Are there any different instructions for Nightcrawlers than the Red Wigglers? Or is it pretty much the same for bedding, feeding, and keeping the compost between 55 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit?

Also, do you know where a good place to get straw/hay in San Francisco is?
